The William H. Veeder Conference celebrates the memory of Bill Veeder, legendary federal attorney who represented tribes throughout the United States on water rights issues. The 4th Annual conference, to be held at Gonzaga Law School in Spokane, features one of Bill Veeder’s most famous cases, Walton v. Confederated Colville Tribes, involving water conflicts on the Colville Reservation. The conference also examines water management issues in and around the Spokane and Yakama Reservations, and features talks by Professor Bob Anderson (Director, University of Washington Native American Law Center) and Canadian aboriginal rights champion Louise Mandell.

Many Indian Tribes around the country have developed sophisticated water management programs. This conference explores the history, legal developments and practical and technical aspects of water management on the Indian reservations of the Pacific Northwest.

The conference has been approved for 10 CLE credits in Washington.
